LASSWADE ARCHERY CLUB NEWSLETTER

ISSUE NO. 178 OCTOBER 2010

Dear Members,

CLUB NEWS

GNAS MEMBERSHIP CARDS FOR 2010/2011

All the relevant affiliation paperwork has now gone off and this to remind you all that Club Secretaries will no longer receive the new GNAS cards instead they will now be sent directly to your home address by GNAS.
When you receive them check that your card numbers match your old cards then DESTROY your cards for 2009/10 as they have now expired.
It may be some time before we receive our new cards as only 2 archers out of  the 44 who attended our Combined Fita had received theirs!
Therefore, when you receive your cards please let me check that your numbers match with my records and ,as always, let me know if you change your address.
If any of you want to enter away tournaments or visit other clubs (highly un-likely) and you do not have your card then see Adelle for a special receipt form which you can use in place of a card. This will allow you to shoot but remain legal at the same time.

Don’t wait until the night before a tournament!

LASSWADE INDOOR OPEN (UKRS) – 14TH NOVEMBER 2010

The usual reminder that we will need help to get things set up on Saturday the 13th plus some donations for the raffle prizes as well. In addition, we will need help to get things put away on the Sunday. The support we received from yourselves after the Combined Fita was dismal.
If I can give up other things and make a 20 mile round trip then I can’t see why some of you who live within Midlothian cannot make the effort once in a while.
Remember, this is your Club as well and I should not have to keep asking you time and time again. I also do not have to remind you that these tournaments form a major source of income for the Club and if we lose them then your Club fees will probably be the first thing to increase to make up any short-fall.

P.S. I don’t know if they read this newsletter but the night before the Combined Fita some of the members of the Links Club stayed overnight in Lasswade to avoid an early morning journey and this also allowed them to get some practise at our Club night.
So a thank you to them for assisting us to get the range set up for the shoot.
Now that I remember I don’t think we had to ask them to do this.

Visiting archers! What would this Club do without them!
