          You horrible people! Where were you on the Sunday 29^th October? We really missed you!

                       

CLUB NEWS

 LASSWADE ARCHERY CLUB ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING.

The above meeting will take place on Wednesday 26^th November at 7.30pm and will be held in classroom B4 in the High School.

The meeting is open to all members and if you do not know the venue then see me.

The usual 3 things to remember:-

(1)   Under Article 23c of the Club Constitution only members who attend the meeting are eligible to vote.

(2)   Under Article 23d the President shall if required be entitled to cast one additional vote in the event of any tied votes.

(3)   There will be NO CLUB SESSION that night.

 

Although I did not report it at the time it was suggested that committee members should serve a 3year term in office with all the posts staggered so that it is not necessary to elect whole committee every year.

This was agreed by the meeting. Therefore under this system the following post will become vacant this year.

They are as follows:- President, Treasurer, Junior Rep, Club Webmaster and one co-opted coach.. Those interested should please form an orderly line and no pushing!

 

NEW MEMBERS.

A warm welcome to our latest recruit Keith White. Keith recently returned to archery after a break and brought along his recurve bow complete with three strings! After his third attempt he found the right one! However, to avoid any further confusion he has moved over to the dark side.

At the time of writing this report our latest beginners’ class ended. Out of an initial group of eight we have three who have decided to join us so greetings to Barry Goodall, John Ross and a new junior Matthew Smith. Matthew is the nephew of our much- loved Treasurer, Joan, but as they say you can’t choose your relatives! Ha! Ha!

 

CANCELLED CLUB SESSION

There will be no club session no December 13^th as the Centre staff, have arranged a Christmas night out. We are not invited!

 

CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR HOLIDAYS

The dates for the festive season will be announced when I have them and they should appear in next month’s newsletter.

 

 

 

IMPROVERS CLASSES

The above sessions appear to be going well and for those of you who receive a paper copy of the newsletter will find attached the on-going programme for November. Another copy will be put on the notice board for the rest of you.

 

TOURNAMENT REPORT

OPEN COMBINED FITA (BRS) OCTOBER 19^TH 2008

With no Lasswade members entered this year it was a fore-gone conclusion that Tina and myself received no support from the membership yet again. Apart from the few who helped on the Saturday night the only exception was David who came along on the day of the shoot. Once again I would like to thank Elayne McLean and Susan Maitland of Penicuik A C plus a few visiting archers for their support which enabled Tina and myself to get the results produced on time.

 

GNAS CARDS

At the time of writing we had still not received our cards for 2008/09 due to a major cock-up on the part of GNAS. In the highly unlikely event that any of you decide to enter a shoot away from Lasswade then please see Adelle or myself as you will need a covering letter to permit you to shoot elsewhere.
