CLUB NEWS

 AFFILIATION FEES FOR 2008 / 09

The time of the year for the new fees is almost upon us. Remember, these are your compulsory affiliation fees NOT your Club fees.

As with last year most of the fees for GNAS, SAA and The Eastern Area have been increased slightly. The new fees are as follows:-

 Senior  :  £60

Junior   :   £10   (unchanged)

OAP  :  £53.50

Disabled  :  To be advised

The totals for each type of member cover all the fees for GNAS, SAA and The Area. Payment can be made in cash or by a cheque made payable to Lasswade Archery Club. When your payment has been made to Joan or myself then I will issue you with your new GNAS card sticker for 2008 / 09. Payment can be made now but no later than 27th September 2008.If any fees is not received by the closing date then you will have three options open to you:-

1        You will not be able to shoot for the 2008 / 09 season. See also ARTICLE 20 of the Club Constitution.

2        You can affiliate through another club if are prepared to take you on.

3        You can affiliate directly to GNAS. This is a more expensive option and you would be responsible for this yourself.

P.S. All members have received a paper copy of  “The Arrowhead” for this month only so those who read or those who do not read the web version cannot say knew nothing about the fees!

TIME CONTROLLER

Those of you who have shot at our tournaments will be aware that most of the tournaments require some kind of timing control. For many years the Lasswade Club has used mini traffic lights, which were placed at both ends of the shooting range. However, the lights have now given up the ghost and repairing them was not an option. To that end a new countdown timer has been purchased for use at our tournaments and we will probably do some test runs at our Club sessions prior to our first tournament in October .Your co-operation will be appreciated.

CONGRATULATIONS ( 2 – CONNECTIONS)

Congratulations to Ross Stewart who got hitched back in June. Not to be outdone another of our members, James Buchanan, also got fitted with his ball and chain to Alison who was our Lady Paramount at this year’s Indoor Club Championships.

James also entered his first major tournament and gained his 1200 FITA Star.

On behalf of the Club our Best Wishes go to both couples.

GOODBYE (a departure)

I also received a phone call from Ambar Pankaj who is one of our longest serving Juniors. He informed me that along with 200 other international students he has been given the opportunity for two years study in Canada .He asked me to thank the Club members who gave him his introduction to archery and I am pleased to do so as he was leaving for Canada almost immediately. Again, on behalf of the Club, we Wish him Well for the future and hope that he may pay us a visit if his studies permit sometime in the future.
