LASSWADE ARCHERY CLUB NEWSLETTER

ISSUE NO. 173 MAY 2010

Dear Members,
Not too much news this month so here it is.

CLUB NEWS
ARCHERY WORLD CUP – 2010 “ COME AND TRY SESSIONS”18TH/ 19TH SEPTEMBER / UP – DATE

I have been notified that Lasswade have been offered the spare session at the above event and  therefore  our 2 sessions will take place on Saturday 18th.

They are as follows:-

10AM till NOON  and  2PM till 4PM.

Should we not be able to commit then we will lose our £50.00 deposit fee and we will not receive our 1/8th share of any takings  made over the 2 days.
The sessions will take place in the East Gardens at the Scott Monument away from the main event in the West Gardens. I have still to receive further details of the sessions in the near future so I will do further up-dates as and when required. If you have any questions then please see me.

CLUB POLO SHIRTS

The new shirts arrived at the beginning of this month and I have been handing them out at Club Sessions. The total order was for 21 shirts so Derek rounded the order up to 24 which gives us 1 large and 2 medium spares. The supplier has also stated  that  if more are required then they can accept a small order if need be.
As I have stated before black is the colour we have registered with GNAS for our lower garments so you can easily obtain these yourselves. I thought it would be a good idea to get a members picture on the gallery page of the Club’s Website wearing the full uniform so see
Billy if you would be happy to do this so he can get a photo taken.
As an incentive the first member to do this will receive a small prize donated by the Club President (ME).

GNAS AGE GROUPS FOR JUNIOR LADIES

A short item for our junior ladies next. Recently, GNAS restructured  the age groups for the Junior Ladies from U18, U16 and U13 to U18, U16, U14 and U12. This brings them into line with the age groups for Junior Gentlemen. This means that Vanessa and Katryn would remain as U18 and U16 GIRLS  while Alexis would become an U14 GIRL as the U13 group has now gone. Hope you followed that !

CLUB TARGET BOSSES

It has been decided that our 13 (2007) tournament bosses have now served their purpose and they are to be replaced by 13 new ones by the end of the summer.
Ten of the 2007 bosses will therefore be ‘demoted’ for indoor Club use and the remaining three may be used to replace a few of the older outdoor bosses.
This means that our ten indoor bosses from 2003 will now become surplus to requirements.
As we have done previously we have again decided to allow any members a chance to take them away for their own use. As I have said we may also have a few outdoor ones to dispose of as well. All these bosses can be taken away from the hall on first come/first served basis and it will be the responsibility of the new owners to take them to their new homes.
Any bosses which are not collected or remain un-claimed will be disposed of by the end of  July. So if you are interested then please see me.

GNAS AFFILIATION FEES FOR 2010/2011

You will be pleased to know that the above fees will remain un-changed for the 2010/2011 season.
