LASSWADE ARCHERY CLUB 29TH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
WEDNESDAY 28TH NOVEMBER 2007
This years meeting was attended by 13 members and the following were elected or volunteered to serve for the next year.
President
D. Cameron
Vice President F. Harrison
Secretary J. Smith
Treasurer M. Smith
Records Officer D. Raeburn
Trophy Officer D. Cameron
Junior Rep. J. Feeley
Equipment Officer D. Sangster
Club Webmaster J. Feeley
Ordinary Members A. Fleming, R. Aiken, E. Bennett, W. Stewart.
Co-opted Coaches D. Sangster, R Vallis.
As you can see there have been a few changes in that Frank has taken the vacant post of Vice President and Mark has taken over Frank’s old post as Treasurer. In addition Adelle and Eddie have joined as ordinary members. As the Club’s bank account remains healthy an increase in Club fees was not required.
Derek has also been busy and circulated copies of the Club Constitution with several changes to bring it up to date. I do not propose to go into any detail here suffice to say after reading the proposed changes they were agreed by the meeting. Once Derek has the final version ready all members will receive a copy of the updated Club Constitution.
Derek also announced that he is be standing down as a coach in October 2008. Those of you who would like to become coaches should form an orderly line!
A
copy of the minutes of the AGM will be put up on the notice board once Joan has
prepared them. If you want your own copy then see me.
At the end of the meeting the Jim Coull Trophy was awarded to Tina.
DIVISION OF THE HALL ON SATURDAY NIGHTS.
You may have noticed that the hall has not been divided up to accommodate our new beginners’ and Club members as I reported recently. I was informed by the Sports Centre that for health and safety reasons (not specified) we would not be allowed to do this. So what happens on Wednesdays when the hall is divided? At the time of writing I am hoping to have this issue clarified.
I would like all members to bring either to my attention or any committee member if you have any concerns about safety. As the staff appear to becoming lax about tying up curtains on Wednesday nights or blocking off the doors to the changing rooms on Saturday nights. So be vigilant. Don’t assume that everyone else will have spotted a potential problem. Use that lump of flesh in your mouth, I believe it’s called a tongue!
TOURNAMENT REPORT.
LASSWADE INDOOR OPEN (BRS) (600) 11TH NOVEMBER 2007
Our annual Portsmouth round proved to be very successful this year with the shoot being over subscribed almost a month before the closing date for entries. Eleven of our members entered with 5 of them winning medals and 2 of them setting new personal bests for the Portsmouth round.
It was also refreshing to see most of our members helping the night before or on the day of the shoot itself.

P.S. Tina, we did not lose any target face pins bar one that was broken!
P.P.S. Russell, why the (fawn coloured) body warmer? Was the hall that cold?
P.P.P.S.
Russell, it’s a proven fact that a good amount of body heat is lost through the
head especially for somebody with less hair like your-self. Perhaps a baseball
cap is required? Then again perhaps not. You may turn a few heads but more than
likely a few stomachs! Ha! Ha!
Is that humorous for you?

AND FINALLY.
This item first appeared in issue No 24 (December 1997) and has not appeared since. Until now that is!
It was originally dedicated to a former member Watty Wyse, who had just become the President of the S.A.A. I have rededicated it to Russell in recognition of all these times he has waylaid me in the car park after Club sessions!
