ISSUE NO. 180 DECEMBER 2010

Dear Members,
A warm welcome to the final edition for 2010.

CLUB NEWS

CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR HOLIDAYS FOR 2010/2011

All members are duly notified that the last Club session for 2010 will be:

WEDNESDAY 22ND OF  DECEMBER .

We will then re-commence in 2011 on

WEDNESDAY 5TH OF  JANUARY.

As Christmas Day and New Years Day fall on a Saturday this will mean the Centre will be closed on these days and Wednesday the 29th will also be cancelled.

When we start back it will be business as usual until further notice.

LASSWADE ARCHERY CLUB 32ND ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING                         WEDNESDAY 24TH NOVEMBER 2010

This year’s meeting was attended by 15 members. As always several subjects were discussed so I will give you the high-lights.
Joan’s report indicated that fees had not covered our out-goings for the year but I later explained to her that she had not included our 7 new members so we are just in the black.
No increase in Club fees was requested but this situation will be monitored until the 2011 AGM.
It should also be noted that there has been no increase in Club fees since 2006 and this is largely due to the income we make from our indoor tournaments. Thanks again Tina.
The committee had also discussed some time ago replacing our tournament stands and I was keen to get things moving on this front as Derek had a design for a new type of stand.
To that end Scott has offered to see if new stands can be made through Esk Valley College as a project for some of the students.
Three posts on the committee were also due for re-election and this year it is a case of “as you were” with Billy staying on as Vice-President, David R as Records Officer and Gareth as the Junior Rep until 2013.

At the end of the meeting the Club’s Jim Coull Trophy was awarded to Richard in recognition of his support to the Club on the coaching side of things for many years.

GNAS CARDS FOR 2010/2011

I have been asked by a few members when the new cards will be arriving. I don’t know! However, on the 3rd of this month I received mine so hopefully most of you will have yours as well.
As I said previously I would be grateful if you could let me know what your card number is so I can make sure it matches the numbers I have on file.

As your new cards are now delivered directly to you from GNAS  it is vital that you tell us if your address details change and if they do then please include your post-code as addresses without a post-code can mean a delay or non-delivery of your GNAS card / Archery UK etc.

ARCHERY UK MAGAZINE

I recently carried out a small survey to ensure that all members are receiving their copies of AUK and this seems to be the case for most of you. There have been a few exceptions and I have contacted GNAS  with regard to 2 members so they will hopefully start to receive their own copies as well. Remember, if you are receiving more than one copy contact GNAS or you can pass them on to me so I can give them to new members.

NEW TOURNAMENT BOSSES

Our new bosses arrived 3 months early just in time for our Open Portsmouth Round on November the 14th.
Our current 10 indoor Club bosses have been disposed of and replaced by 10 of the 2007 tournament bosses. This leaves us with a further 3 2007 bosses which will be used for outdoor Club sessions. This means that a possible 3 of the older outdoor bosses may be disposed of if they are found to be past their normal Club use and this would give any of you a chance to take one away when we go outdoors next May.
If this situation arises and you would like one of these bosses then you will need a car with a large boot, roof-rack or a trailer to get them away.
